In order to sensitize the students towards the miseries and needs of others in the community as well as about the issue of inclusion the College organizes community service programme in line with the B.Ed.syllabus every year.The community work develops empathy,civic sense and sense of social responsibility among students and adds an invaluable layer to education.
The following objectives are framed for the community service.
•To sensitize the trainee teachers towards the difficulties faced by the children of commercial sex workers.
• To identify the provisions about inclusion,exceptionalities and gender differences in the academic plan and their impact on learning.
•To develop a sense of social responsibility among trainee teachers.
•To create awareness regarding the needs and challenges of mentally challenged children and to promote their participation,involvement and latent talents in carrying out community work.
•To encourage trainee teachers to participate in the community services.
•To develop and nourish the essential qualities of responsible teachers among trainee teachers.
Our Institution has developed the social network with the reputed Non Government Organizations,schools and rehabilitation centers.
Apart from this college arranges camp to ‘Shanti Van’ popularly known as ‘Kushta Rog Niwaran Samiti’ situated at Panvel. It is a rehabilitation centre for Leprosy patients.The community work done at Shanti Van includes interaction with Leprosy patients and their families,conducting activities and lessons in the residential school built for Adivasi children,doing ‘Sharam Daan’,learning and doing yoga and other activities as a part of community service.The committee of the Shanti Van Camp has awarded our college as one of the ‘Best College’ for Community work services.

Our students carry out community service programmes in collaboration with the following NGOs and community centers. This service sensitizes the student teachers towards the marginalized and the disadvantaged section of the society.
Every year trainee teachers approach these community centers in groups and offer their services in carrying out community work.This year we have carried out the community work with organization working for the rehabilitation of the children of commercial sex workers,rehabilitation center for mentally challenged learners and school for the deaf and mute.The student-teachers interact with the teachers and the students and get acquainted with the teaching learning process of exceptional learners and making them socially viable and initiating a step towards national development.
