Department of Life Long Learning and Extension (DLLE)

Lifelong learning is the ongoing,voluntary and self motivated pursuit of knowledge which enhances social inclusion,active citizenship,personal development and self sustainability.In order to meet the criteria of social Endeavour our college provides an opportunity to students to excel in academics and social commitment by enrolling the students to the Department of Life Long Learning and Extension, University of Mumbai.The motto of the department is to sensitize students towards the societal needs and aspiration.Students are engaged and engrossed in rendering services to the community for its upliftment and progress.
Our college enrolled in the Extension work programme in the year 1994 and continued to be a part of Extension work till 2014.It’s a long journey our college has with the Department.
The Department has a large number of activities to be undertaken as a part of Social Service Project.The institution provides maximum exposure to the student teachers selecting various projects catering to the needs of women (SWS),developing information technology skill (Information and Technology Project),ensuring education to the population on environmental,women issues and women rights etc (Population Education Club),exploring new career avenues for the students (Career Project) and providing opportunities for the drop outs in school (National Institute of Open School).

The total hours students need to devote for the community service are 120 hours. Students get 10 grace marks as an incentive which gets added to their final B.Ed. result.For details visit www.mudlle.ac.in
The student teachers get theoretical knowledge of inclusion,exceptionalities as well as gender differences in Psychology of Learner and Sociological Foundations of Education.They are also given an opportunity for conducting case study related to the exceptionalities of the students.Various Researches are also conducted on Inclusion exceptional children and gender differences.
Every year in the Annual programme organized by DLLE our students win prizes for the following competitions:

A special event was celebrated on the 12th January 2014 as ‘Yuva Divas’ on the occasion of anniversary of Swami Vivekananda where in 50 student teachers participated actively.Our college won the second prize in the Inter Collegiate Street Play organized by DLLE.
